Choosing Biomicrobics
In the quiet town just outside Nashville, TN – a residential development of nearly 700 homes faced a critical challenge; its existing recirculating gravel filter wastewater system had failed. The immediate need was to treat 120,000 gallons per day (GPD), with flexibility for future expansion as the community continued to grow.
A PROBLEM & SOLUTION
After visiting other installations, Superior Wastewater Systems of Tennessee selected the BioMicrobics MyFAST® 12.0 system for its modular design and proven performance. Capable of handling flows from 10,000 to 160,000 GPD – and scalable up to 2 million GPD – MyFAST provided a robust, long-term solution. The system was installed into a poured concrete tank partially set in the ground, with a decorative building plannec but not yet built above to maintain neighborhood aesthetics. Treated effluent is discharged into a large drip irrigation field, supporting sustainable water reuse.
THE INSTALLATION
It was the first time the plant owner had used MyFAST®, and they did an excellent job. They were skilled in construction, and that paired with easy system implementation made for a very smooth installation which was finished in March of 2025.
MyFAST® is a larger FAST system that is engineered for the needs of onsite wastewater treatment with flows in the 10,000 to 160,000 GPD. This advanced wastewater treatment system uses Fixed Activated Sludge Treatment (FAST) to break down organic material and nutrients in wastewater. MyFAST offers ease of installation, low lifecycle costs, and reliable performance in variable flow conditions – making it the perfect fit for developments like this one. Learn more at BioMicrobics.com
